Looking for a bite to eat? Looking for something interesting to do after work? Do trains intrigue you? If you answered yes, join us at the MARC for dinner and history Thursday, May 30th from 6-8pm, when County Historian, Bob Carter presents “The History of Railroads in Rockingham County.”
The rails were laid and the wheels of the iron horse rolled toward new horizons. Railroad lines connected Rockingham County goods to a larger market. They connected people to others in the county and beyond. It wasn’t until the Piedmont Railroad was built in 1862-1864 that trains arrived in Rockingham County. When they did, it made a major impact.
Admission to the program is $12.50 for adults, $10 for seniors and students. Entrance to the museum is included in the program price. Order your tickets and choose your box dinner using the form below. Tickets go on sale May 10th.
