Riverside Cleanup & Cook Out
@ High Rock Ford
Saturday, April 21 at 10 a.m.
Rockingham County is getting a brand new river access and the first one on the Haw River in the county. Once open, it will become part of the Haw River Blueway. This historic place is characterized by the lovely Haw River, of course, hardwoods, bird calls, and an unusual rock outcrop like nothing you've seen in this part of the county. It has rested for more than a century and now will be revived as a historical and recreational place with easy access to the Haw River.
To get ready for its public appearance, Museum and Archives of Rockingham County and Dan River Basin Association are teaming up to lead a litter clean up on April 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring your gloves and bug spray, a folding chair (for lunch break by the river), and dress in layers with closed-toed shoes.
The MARC is grateful to the Duke Energy Foundation for funding the trails and river access through their Water Resources Fund, and the Reidsville Area Foundation for their support of the cleanup through the Pathways 2.0 Project.
Saturday, April 7 at 11 a.m.
If you're a MARC volunteer, or want to become a MARC volunteer, we invite you to tea time! Enjoy a variety of teas and light refreshments by MK Catering with us as a thank you for all you do. RSVP by calling the MARC or registering here.
