“Discover Your Roots” Event Was A Success !

LDS-DR-1-2On Saturday, January 16, 2013, the Heritage Center at the Eden LDS Church hosted their annual “Discover Your Roots” event. For the second year in a row, Kim Proctor, the MARC’s executive director, represented the museum sharing genealogy resources with the community. In addition, MARC Board of Director member and Sauratown historian Charles Rodenbough presented a program on his ongoing research into the African American connection and lineage at the Rockingham County Plantation and Mrs. Peggy Burton, MARC member, presented a program on organizing your genealogy. Those who attended where not disappointed. The event was excellent.

If you are looking into your genealogy, call or visit the Heritage Center. Once you’ve visited, stop by the MARC to discuss your discoveries and flesh out your knowledge with County Historian Bob Carter. Bob’s office is at the museum. Except when the occasional unavoidable conflicts prohibit, he is available to the public Wednesday-Friday from 1-5pm.
